Washington - President Barack Obama 's second choice for Health and Human Services secretary is getting ready to make her Senate debut. Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is expected to get a friendly reception from the Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on Tuesday. It was unclear whether the committee chairman, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., who's been battling brain cancer, would preside.
Sebelius' appearance comes nearly two months after Obama's first choice for HHS secretary, former Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle, withdrew from consideration while apologizing for failing to pay $140,000 in taxes and interest.
Since then, some battle lines have been drawn over Obama's push to overhaul the nation's health care system to cover 48 million uninsured Americans.
